- Underneath is a short piece for shakuhachi, written for and premiered by Daniel De Togni during the Oregon Bach Festival Composer Symposium in July 2021. By mainly exploring the lowest range of the instrument, the aim of the piece was to create the feeling of something mysterious dwelling underneath the surface, waiting to burst forth.
